Brighton Digital Festival 2015 - Celebrating digital culture 01-30 September 2015
It’s September and that means Brighton Digital Festival; a whole month dedicated to the celebration of all things digital!
Throughout the month more than 170 events will be happening across the city; everything from small-scale meet ups and experimental ideas to big name conferences and fully mounted exhibitions. With most of the events free to attend, there’s plenty of opportunity to come along and discover something new.
Below is an overview of the events we’ve organised as part of the festival, as well a few choice picks and recommendations. Of course, there’s loads of great stuff happening throughout the month, so it’s worth taking a look at the full programme line-up here

Creative, Digital & IT Open Studios 2015
Monday 1st – Friday 4th September
Ever wondered what goes on behind-the-scenes at Brighton’s most innovative and creative companies?
CDIT Open Studios 2015
offers you the chance to take a look at some of the biggest and best digital, media & technology companies; they’ll be opening their doors to show you what they do, where they do it and how.
Participating companies will be hosting a range of events; from talks and workshops, to drop-in advice sessions and parties. Something for everyone, and they're all free to attend.

DigiCatBrighton Business Breakfast Drop In Sessions
Friday 4th September, 9.00 – 11.00am, at The FuseBox
The Digital Business Breakfast Sessions are here to help you understand more about our new collabrative R + D lab for small businesses - the Digital Catapult Centre Brighton - and how you can get involved.
At this event we’ll be joined by Catapult partner American Express, so it’s a great opportunity to network with representatives from AMEX’s technology team to learn why they’re engaging with the Catapult and discuss potential opportunities for collaboration.

Wednesday 16th September, 10:00am – 5:00pm at The FuseBox
As part of the digital festival we’ve partnered with; ‘Brightminded', ‘Ethereum Brighton Meetup’ and ‘thebestof Brighton and Hove’ to hold a special event exploring these disruptive technologies and their applicability to solving real-world business and organisational problems.
The day will be split into two sessions: the morning will see an overview of the technology, whilst in the afternoon we’re hosting ‘mini-hack’ for developers looking to get firsthand experience with the tech. You can find out more and register for a place here.

Be Creative, Think Global - 21st September, 10.00 – 4.00pm, at Brighton Dome
This September we’re partnering with UKTI

Digital Exchange - an innovative approach to improving broadband

The Brighton Digital Exchange (BDX) is a group of digital businesses working together in innovative ways to improve the digital infrastructure available to the Brighton business community. At the heart of BDX is a cooperatively-owned and run data centre.

It's a digital bonanza!
This year Brighton Digital Festival continues to feature a stellar line-up of conferences, workshops, talks and artistic pursuits; all exploring the multifaceted nature of digital culture. Here’s a few to whet your appetite:
-The Brighton Mini Maker Faire (5th, Corn Exchange)
returns for a fifth year with even more mind-boggling makes. There will be makers from all across the country showcasing their projects, sharing their passion for making, and inspiring visitors to have a go at creating things themselves.
-Newcomer The Long Progress Bar (3rd – 4th, Dome -Studio Theatre)
promise a two-day festival of radical imagination; featuring talks, presentations, screenings, workshops and vanguard performances from a host of international artists, scholars and social innovators - Including Paul Mason, Channel 4 Economics Editor.
-Dots 2015 (4th, Duke’s at Komedia)
celebrates what happens when ideas are connected in new and unexpected ways. Speakers will share inspirational stories about achieving transformation in their work, life and everything in-between.

for an afternoon of presentations and discussion that will help you to make the right decision when pursuing funding for your digital enterprise.
