A new business support programme for Brighton

Catch the Wave is a new business support programme for anyone in the city who wants to launch and grow a business. It includes affordable workshops, useful resources and expert mentoring sessions.

Designed and delivered by Brighton Chamber, Catch the Wave includes practical, interactive sessions for organisations at every stage of their journey, including:
• Pre-start businesses, to help with getting an idea off the ground
• Start-up businesses, to help with growing and development
• Social businesses, to help with investment and measuring impact
• Businesses who are bidding for contract, to help with tendering and procurement

The programme runs from July 2019 to April 2020.
Sarah Springford, CEO at Brighton Chamber, said: “We are delighted to be working with partners Kreston Reeves and Barclays Eagle Labs to provide this valuable and affordable programme for early stage businesses. Brighton is a city where people want to start businesses and it’s important to support them with practical help so they grow and create jobs.”

This workshop is designed for anyone in the planning stages of their new business and will help you develop the essential skills and knowledge to set it up.

GROW YOUR BUSINESS SMARTER AND FASTER
Designed for start-ups and early stage businesses, this workshop will help you consider your goals, improve your engagement with your customers and create a business plan.

SOCIAL ENTERPRISES AND PURPOSE-LED BUSINESS: INVESTMENT
Discover how to get your business ready for investment in the first of two workshops for social enterprises and purpose-led businesses. Book today and keep an eye out for the second workshop, which will be all about social impact.

SMART BIDDING: HOW TO WIN CONTRACTS
Are you fed up with your competitors winning contracts you didn’t even know were up for grabs? This workshop will help you find out about opportunities and arm you with the knowledge to start bidding successfully.

MENTORING SESSIONS
Attendees of Catch the Wave workshops can book a mentoring session with a business expert across a range of topics from marketing and social media to finance and business law.

ONLINE PRESENCE
Businesses that sign up to a Catch the Wave workshop can take advantage of the Viva! initiative offered by Brighton-based business Create.net of having their own free one-page website.

COST
The Catch the Wave sessions are supported by Kreston Reeves Accountants and Barclays Eagle Labs and cost £20 each, apart from Smart Bidding which is £10.
