Back in 2016 we applied for an intern through the Sussex University Internship programme. The process was really straightforward and in November we were joined by Zach Hoad, a computer science graduate, to become our first OutSystems trainee. Zach spent the few weeks before starting with us working through the OutSystems online training materials and was able to get productive right from go.

Within a week, Zach was working full time on components of a new application we were building for a luxury automotive brand. It has been a very pleasant surprise for all us to have Zach join the team and be productive within his first month.

The internship runs for 10 weeks after which you get the option to employ the intern. For us, it was an easy decision. The 360 feedback from our nearshore dev team, client and our own CTO was overwhelmingly positive. Comments like 'don't let him go..." and "we will hire him if you don't..." certainly made us realise what an asset Zach had become. Consequently we offered Zach a full-time positon as a Junior Developer and gave him a nickname.

Zach 'Bugs' Hoad is now a fully fledged Lemonite and part of the growing UK OutSystems talent pool. Well done Zach and thanks Sussex University!
